When Spring Opens Its Eyes

Spring is playing peek-a-boo with us right now. The flowers are blooming, the trees are donning their green leaves, but the wind still has occasion to blow chill tendrils of air. The sun shines each day making you believe that it's a throw-the-windows-open kind of day. The greening trees make the sky dazzle in blue and I know that truly warm days are ahead.
I love the gentle awakening of spring. The way the flowers and the trees take their turns to bloom before giving way to the next showcase of colors. First, the crocuses and daffodils, then the forsythia and  redbud attempt to outdo each other. It's only the beginning of a montage of color and light that morphs from spring to summer. The promise of warm days and warm nights is ahead. Days of family outings, digging in the dirt, endless swing rides (for the kiddos ;)) ice cold lemonade, and relaxing in the hammock. There is so much to look forward to when spring open it's eyes.
"Is the spring coming?" he said.
"What is it like?"
"It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine."
Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

In case you're like me and like to have a soundtrack for each season, here are a few of my favorite songs to listen to in the spring.

>>>I mean, she's kind of the best violinist ever and  this song totally fits the season.

>>>It pretty much doesn't get any better than these guys and  this song is still one of my favorites of theirs.

>>>I discovered her a few years back and this pretty much sums up spring!

>>>The best for last! Permission granted to get all the feels.

What is your favorite part about spring?
